Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is both a travel memoir and a true crime chronicle.  John Berendt begins the book by focusing each chapter on a specific person he meets during his time in Savannah, Georgia.  Soon, however, a prominent antique dealer shoots an employee in one of the city's most famous mansions, and the book changes course to follow the murder trial's minute details.
